All State Recycling, a leading Southern California recycler and dealer of scrap metals, cardboard, and aluminum cans, installed a Clara stormwater plug-flow separator and StormwateRx Aquip enhanced stormwater filtration system to comply with its NPDES Industrial Stormwater General Permit, protect the environment, and allow facility expansion.
The California Regional Water Quality Control Board, Santa Ana Region, permit stipulates benchmark water quality goals for the site. The City of Rancho Cucamonga Community Development Department took an interest in the stormwater upgrade to help meet the requirements of its Municipal Separate Storm Sewer (MS4) permit.
The StormwateRx Aquip filtration system was recommended by All State’s stormwater consultant, Terry Balog of FROG Env., Inc.:
“FROG Environmental is trusted by business owners and environmental managers to handle stormwater compliance at hundreds of industrial facilities in California and on the west coast. FROG centered on the StormwateRx system because of its ability to get below the benchmarks, ease of integration, and value relative to other storm water treatment BMPs on the market.”
The City of Rancho Cucamonga rejected a proposed hydrodynamic separator in favor of the StormwateRx treatment train. StormwateRx supplied the passive Aquip filtration system, a pump station, and integration design that enabled site staff, StormwateRx personnel and a plumbing contractor to install and put the system online in three working days. All State Recycling's Environmental Manager said, “We are pleased with FROG Environmental and the StormwateRx system." FROG’s involvement and the presence of the StormwateRx system BMPs improved our standing with the City of Rancho Cucamonga and the Regional Board, and will help us continue to meet the requirements of our permit.”
